Bar Hopping With Terri! Terri Farris
Melting Pot’s Yin & Yang Martini
Everyone familiar with The Melting Pot knows it is a unique dining destination.  What you may not know is The Melting Pot offers a selection of fine wines and incredibly delicious cocktails.  The bar at The Melting Pot is an excellent place to enjoy a night out with your friends or someone special apart from the usual bar scene.  The bar at The Melting Pot is also equipped with the hot plates required for cooking the delicious fondues which allows bar patrons the opportunity to enjoy the various menu items without the necessity of a dinner reservation.

Recently The Melting Pot in Hoboken, New Jersey and the Hoboken Happy Hour Group co-hosted All About Chocolate.  Attendees were treated to pairings of chocolate fondue desserts and chocolate flavored cocktails, wine and beer!

            • Dark Chocolate Fondue with Double Chocolate Stout Beer
            • Yin & Yang Fondue with Yin & Yang Martini
            • Bananas Foster Fondue with Bananas Foster Martini
            • Tiramisu Fondue with Tiramisu Martini
            • Milk Chocolate Fondue with Mavrodaphne Dessert Wine

The desserts were incredible but the buzz among attendees was all about the Yin & Yang Martini!  This 10–ounce creamy blend of Godiva chocolate liqueur and vodka vanilla flavors had tasters begging for more.   This came as no surprise to franchise owner, Nirav Patel, who advised me The Melting Pot’s Yin & Yang Martini was named the Best Signature Drink by Cheers Magazine in 2009.

Having tasted this beautiful…and I do mean beautiful drink, I personally recommend adding  The Melting Pot to your bar destinations when  you are in the mood for a special cocktail!
Recipe for the Yin & Yang Martini:
•½ ounce Godiva white chocolate liqueur
•1 ounce Stoli Vanilla vodka
•½ ounce White crème de cacao
•3 ounces Vanilla ice cream base
•crushed ice as needed
Blend these ingredients in a blender and pour into a 10–ounce chilled martini glass.  Garnish with dark chocolate shavings in a yin yang shape and add dark and white chocolate wafers for the dots of the yin yang.
